McTakeover a Success KEBPA’s fourth McTakeover on Feb 8th, at the Silverdale McDonalds was another boon for the Klahowya Band programs. The band played pep tunes as entertainment for the diners and parent volunteers helped the Mickey D’s staff serve the patrons. Thanks to everyone who came out in support of the KSS bands by dining and BIG THANKS to the volunteers that helped. Gratitude to the Silverdale Way McDonalds for giving us this opportunity once again. |

KEBPA’s 2012 Dinner and Auction was a spectacular night and a huge success! Once again this year’s auction saw plenty of firsts including a new record for attendance and funds raised for Klahowya’s band programs! An event of this magnitude simply is not pulled off overnight. Planning begins months ahead of time and many people are involved. So many thanks are in order. First to Lori Dammeyer, her guidance and leadership in once again organizing this event was immeasurable. She kept the process moving full steam ahead. Without Lori, there would not have been an auction. This year saw a change in venue of the auction. Thanks to the Kitsap Golf and Country Club and the Tucker-Nelson family from Chico Towing we were able to move out of the KSS Commons and enjoy an auction as it was meant to be; in a festive, intimate and FUN environment. The Country Club was gracious in stepping in at the last minute to be our new home and we are thankful. Nena Andrews and Debbie Landrum transformed the country club’s ballroom to match our Valentine theme of “Share Your Love of Music.” It couldn’t have looked better. The catered dinner was a piece of art; rich in flavor that complimented the evenings sweetheart theme courtesy of Kurt and Donna Strep. The evening then got off to a rousing start when the KSS High School Jazz Band rocked the house and the Jazz Choir added to the magic of our Valentine theme. If you ever have a chance to experience a performance from either of these fine young ensembles, don’t miss the opportunity. Let’s not forget Chris Sizemore our auctioneer from Stoke’s Auction. His mix of rapid-fire, staccato auctioneering and theatrics coupled with a hefty dose of humor was the highlight of the evening. If you weren’t bidding you were laughing. Finally, a big thanks to the KSS students that lent us their Saturday night and worked to make this the best auction night ever. And the biggest thanks of all; thanks to all those that donated to the auction, solicited businesses for the auction, attended the auction and, especially, spend money at the auction. Your gift is well worth it and appreciated. Please take a bow! Robert Dammeyer KEBPA President |
